At Uncle Clay’s House of Pure Aloha (HOPA), we believe that we have the responsibility to give back through ways that reach beyond just the daily operations of our store’s four walls. One way we are committed to giving back is through financial giving to worthy causes and organizations.
During the 2011-2012 holiday season we launched the first successful pilot of giveHOPA. In a short five-week period, we were able to raise awareness as well as funds--$171 for KUPU, $188 for Kanu, and $205 for Kalani for a grand total of $565.00 through the sell of hundreds of giftcards.
In the near future, we plan to refine and re-launch an improved version of the giveHOPA promotion. In the revamped version of giveHOPA, we hope to make it even easier for HOPA guests to support worthy local causes.
Goal of giveHOPA. giveHOPA assisted HOPA customers in making a positive, intentional impact that resonates with their personal values. The idea for the promotion arose from the desire to make a positive impact on the local community and foster relationships between their customers and like-hearted non-profit organizations.
The giveHOPA Promotion. The giveHOPA promotion provided HOPA customers the opportunity to build a relationship with a non-profit partner through increasing levels of engagement: supporting the organization with their individual purchasing power, learning more about the work that the non-profit is carrying out, and potentially taking action with the non-profit partner. For the promotion, a percentage of every HOPA gift card sold went towards a non-profit organization, with an ultimate goal of $150 and a commitment from HOPA to encourage customer interaction with the non-profit organization.
